LARK: Sliptrick Records Welcome Heavy Rock GroupTuesday, 30 May 2023
Polish group Lark have a clear vision of themselves; "We could write a lot about our personal stories, past bands and different projects, but who cares since only the here and now matters. We consider, it's very important to mention that we derive from different music backgrounds, what probably helped us to create rather diverse music, which is the medley of different styles, at least we find it like this."
After various changes, the bands current line-up was formed in 2019 and they hope it will stay like this to allow them to continue the mixture of different musical tastes. When they made the decision to record what we composed, they had no plans, no dreams about fame nor a worldwide career, they only wanted to record the music, capture that atmosphere and don't let it pass away…. In the end, when they finished recording, they were more than satisfied with the final results decided to keep going and show their music to the world.
Lark go on to say; "The same as every artist, we would like to be noticed and appreciated, but not at all costs. If someone wants to become our fan will be always welcome, but the only thing we can promise is that we will continue on the same way, making the music, which represents us, our feelings and transmits our emotions. Of course, we don't discover anything and it can be maybe easy to guess where our inspirations come from, but we play with passion and we pay attention to details."
"It still isn't the history of Lark since the history is just beginning…"Lark are:

BLINDSTONE: Release new record "Scars To Remember" in AugustSaturday, 27 May 2023Photo by Lena Angioni
BLINDSTONE is proud to announce the new album ”Scars To Remember”. After being the best-kept secret within the heavy side of blues rock, as part of the “closed” blues scene for two decades, the band is now moving to Mighty Music and finally getting the recognition they deserve.
”Scars To Remember” is the tenth album from the Danish-based blues power trio, which has its stylistic roots in the late ’60s and ’70s, with inspiration from bands/artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and others.
Formed more than two decades ago and having played countless shows in those years, Blindstone hit it hard in the US, due to their sound, and released most of their albums on the American label Grooveyard Records. Despite the long run, the band saw a turning point in their career when, in 2020, they were hired as the backing band for the blues legend Walter Trout, for a series of successful concerts around Denmark. This experience was a factor in inspiring the band to seek a slightly more direct and basic stylistic approach on their new album. The blues influence is particularly obvious in songs such as”Down For The Count”, ”Waste Your Time” and ”World Weary Blues”.
Blindstone has always worn its influences on its sleeves, and ”Scars To Remember” does indeed contain obvious tips of the hat to influences such as Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, Trout, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Gales, Jeff Healey, and others.
As always with Blindstone, Andersen’s guitar work is a focal point, as is the tight ensemble playing of the band – for example, the instrumental ”The Fields Of Bethel” comes to mind – but the band’s lyrical universe has reached new levels of seriousness and depth in the bands new collaboration with Swedish lyricist Peter Svensson, who contributed lyrics to a large part of the album. The major concerns of recent years, with a global pandemic and war in Europe, have led the band’s lyrics in a more serious, soul-searching direction, as illustrated by songs like ”A Scar To Remember”, ”Drums Of War” and ”Drifting Away”. In other words, there are no stripper poles, hot-rodded cars, or silver dollar coins to be found in the lyrics, this time around.
”Scars To Remember” is a strong entry in Blindstone’s extensive discography, and should appeal to fans of the band’s previous releases, the aforementioned artists, and fans of heavy, blues-based rock in general.
“Scars To Remember” will be released on CD and digital formats via Mighty Music on August 11th, 2023. Pre-orders are available now via this link.
The first single from the album, of the track "Waste Your Time", will be released next week on Friday and can be pre-saved here.

1. Embrace The Sky
2. A Scar To Remember
3. Down For The Count
4. Waste Your Time

DANICIDE: Joins Sliptrick RecordsSaturday, 27 May 2023
Joining the ranks at Sliptrick Records:
Danicide (PY) Thrash | Melodic | Gothic
Danicide is an artist and multi-instrumentalist based in Paraguay. His sound sets the bar high by combining influences from different genres into a really innovative, yet heavy and raw formula. His instrumental songs are actually a fantastic example of what it means to keep an open mind without compromising; straddling the line between metal, alternative music and industrial in a seamless way. Not only is Danicide’s music direct and unapologetically fast, but it is also very accomplished in terms of production. Each instrument is purposefully arranged within the mix, meaning that Danicide isn’t only trying to "fill in the empty spaces", but rather uses sounds and different tonal qualities to create a dark gothic texture.
People who enjoy listening to artists like Dark Tranquility, Arch Enemy, Children of Bodom, In Flames, NIN, Cradle of Filth or Dimmu Borgir are definitely going to appreciate Danicide and his instrumental music, which is a perfect essence of heavy, yet technical and fast tones in modern metal. The forthcoming album Broken is set for release via Sliptrick Records on August 8th.Broken | Released August 8th, 2023 via Sliptrick Records

Paracrona: (feat. Fortíd, Borknagar, Leprous) unleash the power of the Sun God!Saturday, 27 May 2023
Ringo Christiaan Van Droffelaar and Øystein Hansen (ex- Fortíð) met on the hallowed fields of the Wacken Open Air festival in 2007 and from that chance encounter the seeds of Paracrona were sown – a new force in creative, adventurous, extreme metal. By 2016 the two men were working in earnest on the songs that would become their debut album, Sun God, which was completed three years later in 2019 – just as the clouds of the Covid-19 pandemic were beginning to gather on the world’s horizon. Yet more adversity was cast in Paracrona’s path when Ringo was then forced to lock horns with cancer – an enemy he was thankfully able to overcome. Now, at long last, Paracrona can unveil the results of their years of work and struggle – the blazing brilliance of Sun God has arrived!
Lyrically Sun God is a call to freedom, a song of liberation that wants to open people’s eyes to the walls of deceit and misdirection that have been built around us by the power hungry manipulators who structure our society. Musically it embodies that sense of free thinking and creative liberty, entwining a dark, black metal core in artfully woven strands of melody and imagination. Muscular traditional metal riffs summon in the unrestrained ‘Thriller’, which features the drumming of Baard Kolstad (Leprous, Borknagar etc) while ‘New Impurity’ is an ever expanding maelstrom of cold shadows. Brilliant lead guitar passages climb the obsidian steps of ‘Carry The Cross’ (again featuring Baard Kolstad) and ‘Mendacious’ unfolds with an overwhelming twilight majesty. Each individual song offers a wealth of treasures to explore and embrace. You can wander the halls of the Sun God time after time and still find new wonders with every listen.
Mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström (Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity, Dimmu Borgir etc) at Studio Fredman, with additional drum recordings taking place at Marius Strand’s Strand Studios (Borknagar, Pantheon I, Susperia etc), Sun God possesses the sonic power and depth that its multilayered compositions and stunning personal performances demand. Adorned in the dramatic artwork of Siri Valdman – who also contributes backing vocals to the album – Sun God will be available in digital and CD formats from May 24th. Vibrant, creative, challenging and opulent, Sun God is a remarkable debut album and a must hear for all lovers of fascinating, dramatic, original music.

Dictator Ship: To release second albumSaturday, 27 May 2023
Dictator Ship returns with new music. In 2020, the band released their debut album ”Your Favorites” which received praise from fans and media alike, being called ”An astounding live-in-studio debut” by UK’s Classic Rock Magazine. Now the Swedish four piece is back, ready to launch their second studio album ”Electric Jihad” in September 2023. Blending energetic rock’n'roll with melodies inspired by 60’s soul and doo-wop, the band has carved out their very own niche in the rock landscape, perfectly displayed on the new album. The first single as well as the title track of Dictator Ship’s second album ”Electric Jihad” is released on the 26th of May on The Sign Records.
The band comments on the single ”Electric Jihad”:
Most people just want to go about and do their part in life without too much trouble. Peace and quiet, and a sense that you’re doing well for yourself and the people you care about. But when society decides to exploit and use your loyalty for the benefit of the filthy few that profit from our labor, then sometimes people tend to take to the streets and show their honest discontent to what they feel is unjust and wrong. This song is about what usually happens when representatives of the state and people who have reached the breaking point clash on the streets in fear and anger. The pigs usually win.
Dictator Ship! A frenetic rock'n'roll quartet channeling their inner obsession of 60’s soul and doo-wop, inspired by early giants such as Sam & Dave, Sly & The Family Stone, Jackie Wilson and The Platters. Their live act is often described as a combination of the raging sound of The Sonics, the discontent attitude of MC5 and the pure stamina of Elvis Presley in Las Vegas.
Dictator Ship released their debut album “Your Favorites” on The Sign Records in 2020. The album was received with acclaim and Classic Rock Magazine marks it as ”An astounding live-in-studio debut from a raw twin-guitar-fronted quartet of Swedes, all of whom double on vocals, channeling the MC5’s explosive, action-rock remodel of 60s soul. Essential. 9/10”. In 2021, Dictator Ship released two singles that will be followed by their second album ”Electric Jihad” in September 2023, along with three more singles.
”Electric Jihad” is a step up from the debut album in every single way, with more harmonies in the vocals and more structure in the guitars. It’s also a reflection of how the band feels about the society they live in.

RUTHLESS: Announces new studio album “The Fallen” and sign with Fireflash RecordsFriday, 26 May 2023
The name RUTHLESS in itself means “without mercy.” Since the early 1980’s, lead by vocalist Sammy DeJohn, the band has stayed true to its style of metal, from the classic first EP “Metal Without Mercy” (1984) and the debut cult album “Discipline Of Steel” (1986), to the current albums “They Rise” (2015)” and “Evil Within” (2019), they’ve never wavered on the power of bands like JUDAS PRIEST, ACCEPT and BLACK SABBATH, always staying true to their roots.
Today, RUTHLESS announce their fourth and new album “The Fallen”, which will be released by the end of 2023 through their new record label Fireflash Records (HOLY MOSES, MEZZROW a.o.). “We are very honored and extremely excited to be partnering with Fireflash Records. The future is very bright”, says vocalist Sammy DeJohn, who founded the band in 1982, and adds: “You can expect it to be very powerful with a throwback to the early days of the band. This album will give you everything Ruthless.”
“We are proud to welcome this US metal legend to the Fireflash family”, says label founder Markus Wosgien and adds: “When I heard the ten new tracks, the power and the passion combined with their straight and traditional 80s metal sound, it was a no-brainer to work with the band. Ruthless is an Underground legend, that deserves to be heard by any true metalhead and “The Fallen” is a future classic and a must-have for anyone who is into traditional heavy metal like METAL CHURCH, HELSTAR, EXCITER, LIEGE LORD and others.”
The band has shown glimpses of the future as well as back to the beginning and offers a strong album with tons of highlights, produced by Bart Gabriel (CIRITH UNGOL, RIOT CITY, HEXX a.o.). With this line-up of original vocalist, Sammy DeJohn (1982 to present), drummer, Bob Guitrau (1986-2012 and 2021 to present), bass player, Sandy K. Vasquez (since 2016) and guitarist, Glen Paul (since 2021), RUTHLESS is ready to thrash the world once again!RUTHLESS live:

KARRAS: Grind out deal with M- TheoryFriday, 26 May 2023
M-Theory Audio is pleased to announce that extreme power trio, KARRAS, has signed to the label for their next full-length studio effort. The Paris, France-based group formed in 2017 to combine old-school death metal and grindcore influences with their own spin. To introduce the band, we ask you spare only 13 seconds and check out the band’s brand new single and video, “Demons Got Rhythm,” now on YouTube.
“We are proud to announce we’ve signed with North America’s M-Theory Audio label,” comments bassist/vocalist Diego Janson. “Besides a solid and prime worldwide distribution, M-theory Audio has a very artist-friendly approach that we were absolutely looking for. Owner Marco Barbieri has loads of experience in the metal community and we are very proud to work with him and his team!”
“KARRAS came to my attention simply from an email submission. Something just struck me upon listening to the group’s latest material that convinced me to give it repeated spins,” explains label founder Marco Barbieri. “You’ll come to hear with further audio samples that the band’s oftentimes harsh attacks are also insanely infectious.”
“Demons Got Rhythm” while a short blast only shows one facet of the group’s talents so don’t think you know the whole story simply from this kick to the face. The song comes from the group’s sophomore album, ‘We Poison Their Young,’ to be released this fall so watch for more news and preorders.
Named as an ode to the life and death of Father Damian Karras from the cult horror film, The Exorcist, the trio are as equally compelling, sinister and evolving as the popular movie. Delivering a mix of punk-crust, grindcore and early ‘90s raw death metal KARRAS made quite an impression on the European scene with 2020’s debut, ‘None More Heretic’ (Verycords). That and the forthcoming are intense displays of the band’s effort to resurrect his legacy and to give Father Karras a second chance but moreso to deliver a deafening way of reasoning.
More information on KARRAS and the upcoming album release will be revealed in the weeks to come at www.facebook.com/karrasband and by M-Theory Audio.Karras is:
